fairly recently, where there is already an established society and technology and so on. However, the Crown King clearly created his transmissions regarding evacuation of the island etc. However, if there is no time travelling at all going on, do you mean to say that the "Crown King" is not us - just some other person that took power during the recent plague?īecause here is the thing: The ancient stone tablets speak about the plague already back then - but there is no clear reason or origin for it - other than they suspected the Immortal King as the origin (hence why they tried to kill him).īy the looks of things, these ancient stone tablets surely depict primitive people with spears and such. It does indeed imply that we are the Immortal King. Do you guys have any theories to add?Īh, I didn't notice that ancient tablet arm regeneration - good catch!Īlso interesting with that corpse looting. I know the tomb is empty, implying that the original Immortal King got out somehow and that it could be us, but I can't get over the one-armed thing.Īt the start- to mid-point of the story I thought that the one-armed king was a robot - maybe an AI from the future or something, especially when the lore started describing the time-altering properties of Mana, but the story never went in that direction. Are we just taking advantage of the discovery of mana and also becoming immortal like that old king, still creating our own story and only reading about a different king long ago? But are we really the Immortal King from ages past? That guy was supposed to be one-armed, but we have both our arms. Since we respawn every time we die - and one tape in the Fortress specifically talks about this - we are more or less immortal. It's heavily implied that we are the King who is trying to fix the situation (or escape?) by messing with time and starting over time and time again. I just finished the game today and I was hoping a lot more for an ending sequence than just seeing the escape pod go off. One fact is stays that the Tomb guardians over the island are all Kings Male Descendants who were Buried alive. What was the point in the story that he respawned in the Shelter that we come out of at the start of the game. Some of the things I don't understand is who is the Ivory man, at what point in time did Abby gas the Pyramid and kill the KING causing him to respawn and become the Crown King of the Island, how did the ancient folk stop the Pestilence after locking the King and when did the Pestilence occur in the present time. HE slowly started remembering things and setting the path to prevent it all from going bad. There he most probably lost his mind (One tablet says that they could hear Kings screams echoing from the tomb on silent nights) Where the King in one audio log says "I always carry the pills though, Not repeating that mistake again." This most probably caused him to forget what he was, every single thing he did prior to being gassed thus he was discovering how things work from the start. IMPORTANT!: After, they built the Great Pyramid and locked the King inside the pyramid where he stayed for countless of centuries. This means he didn't die a single time since he fell from the sky with the rocket up until the point they killed him. They threw him off a cliff but he respawned back at the village with his arm regrown. Mana is the reason of the Pestilence and the ancient folk blamed the King for that and sentenced him to death. This means that when the King/Player left the island in the Rocket filled with mana Orbs, shards etc, all that mana caused him to be displaced in time, loose his arm, go back in time to many centuries in the past, thus the story of the first tablet where it explains about a "Great blue tear" (The Rocket loaded with MANA shining blue) crashing on the island and that is how mana came to them. > Beginning of the entire timeline, thousands of years prior to the present. THe Accident with the thruster and that he lost his arm, and that was only the beginning. Audio recordings imply the immortality thing, dark for a moment and then feeling the flame -> being respawned at the campfire and carrying the blue pills.Ģ: When we first enter King's fortress the synth says Let there be light and a text is written on the screen "Welcome home, king" reacting to the players presence.ģ: The 4th King's Audio Log says about doomed each time and that it makes him "Frustrating and it makes him wanna break things"-> Our unending desire for destruction from the start of the game named DYSMANTLE.Ĥ: After the escape with the rocket the king says he escaped and left everything behind.
