While what you said regarding -s ="false" is true with, as an example, VMware Player 4.0.4 nonetheless it's not applicable to this particular and quite dated discussion thread as VMware Player 2.0.4 did not have built-in VNC capabilities like other VMware Products did at that time. Secondly I can tell you as a fact that VMware Player 2.0.4, the product version of this discussion thread, did not execute the vmware-vmx process using -s ="false" and what RDPetruska said on 10:52 AM was certainly more true then what you've said when put in proper context!
